poor guy has to study on his birthday. o.O if it was me, i'll probably interpret it as god's gift to me before the exams. a reprieve! ha ha ha. too much self-delusion is bad for the mind.
now, sarah is gonna eat a hearty lunch and then spend the rest of my day holed up at downtown for intensive econs. (oh and i missed service today cos i overslept. shit.)
i just realised that directly after exams, there are neither marking days nor breaks. the whole stupid school is just gonna take a nosedive back into curriculum. where's the reward for mugging the entire hols? x(
sharapova lost her wimbledon match against mauresmo. that really sucks.

today is really not a bag of chuckles.
it all started with a very torturous bus trip, where the aircon decided to die on everyone. it is exactly what it sounded like - a hot purgatory. i felt like i've hopped onto a mobile oven.
when i finally alighted and turned to look at the other harried passengers, swiping sweat off their brows, i began to gloat. sympathise, definitely. but feeling of being pardoned was fairly overwhelming. however, as soon as i noticed my own disheveled appearance that triumphant feeling went right out of the window. turtles.
just when i thought nothing could get worse, the rubberband holding up my unruly hair broke. i missed the bus stop i was suppose to alight
(second bus ride) and had to walk 4 bus stops in darkness, freaking myself out with my vivid imagination. my little misadventure finally ended at mel's house, where her dad's wake was held, the second funeral i've attended since the start of the year. we carried a heavy heart throughout the simple yet dignified service, couldn't help but wonder at the unpredictability of life.
dang, i'm getting emo here. sighs. just hope everything will turn out fine for mel. (:

it's always so rare to have the entire house to myself. *sighs*
i've always enjoyed being at home alone. no disturbances - shrills from the annoying tv set, loud bubbly conversations of someone over the phone or noisy preparations for dinner
(which its fantastic smells i do not hate). suffice to say, there are no lack of activities when the boisterous members of my family are around. and lady luck's definitely on my side today, cos those monstrous things at the adjacent construction site have been on silent mode. hurrah!
up till now, i've spent my day feasting on chocolates, reading aloud my notes, throwing imaginary stones at the wall opposite my dining
(carved with protests at the injustice of studying during hols) and using the comp to my heart's content. and i've decided to halt all study plans
(cos i need a break), switch over to couch potato mode, and curl up with one of the latest heart-seizing paperback thrillers later.

sarah is a coward.
not sure if it fits the bill. but there are no other phrases i could churn out that accurately pins this particular trait of mine.
i hate it when shit happens to people.
(ok, that's normal) when i watch a movie/drama or while reading, each time the story twists and drops the characters into a pot of hot soup, i cringe.
(well, it sounds normal)then i totally stop watching until the character is out of the pinch, or quickly flip the pages of the book till it's happy ever after again.
(o__o)i do this so often, i didn't realise until today, when i skipped an episode of my fav show
to
do
homework, because i know something bad is gonna happen. a ridiculous trade-off apparently. but digging deeper, there seems be a slight implication here --
i seem to run away from problems.

if only the ethos of the day did not place such importance in education. *sighs*
yes yes. i'm not supposed to use the comp now. feel like i'm stealing apples. (you know.. adam and eve?) but i was unable to quell the strong temptation and gave in after serious bouts of internal conflict. up till now, all lousy attempts at studying were abortive and it's time, i think, to start more draconian measures. or i can just kiss the midyr exams byebye. (study)
there are no happening news lately, except maybe for the G8 summit and china's latest attempt at poisoning the world. well, at least none that directly affects me. been seeing more of ying and the gang lately, something i really really missed. haha. afterall, it was such a huge change - from practically living in her house to occasional meetings. but i shall be content with the present state. *grins*

we treated bingy to a scrumptious meal at swensens because it was his birthday!

service at that particular branch was not worth mentioning. the waiter, who left us stranded at the counter, did nothing to assuage our opinion. rather, it was like giving the last shreds of their reputation a final spit in the face.
for ying, it was love at first sight to this little guy.
went to meet edwin at cine for a game of pool. i was sooo hooked onto LocoRoco, an unbelivably cute PSP game, that i didn't join in their session of "ball-poking".

my cable modem died on me last thursday and i got clobbered on my head with a sudden revelation:
i can't live without my comp! >_<well, definitely not during the hols, when you've got this amazing load of free time - of cos, i'm suppose to invest it in books. but.. ugh, no way. it must be books AND comp, or the deal is off. a healthy invididual should not -i repeat,
should not- be able to survive purely by absorbing nutrients through the digestion of books (textbooks, that is.) yeah, i'm lucky i didn't get chronic malnutrition. @_@
went sentosa on wednesday for a little sunbathing. *grins* well, i am compelled to get rid of all the ugly tan lines! at first it was only yan and i, cos we're too embarrassed about our unshapely figures (which turns out to be only mine). but ahma overheard our secret mission to the beach and decided she was not to be left out. lols.
to the other 5darlings: it wasn't exactly preplanned. so didn't call you guys along. sorry! the next time, you bet i'll do. get ur bathing suits ready~ ^__^
we headed to vivocity for some very very late lunch, which really suggests why we were starving. and guess what we saw?
